Yes, that was what he would need to back that shit up. Otherwise he's just posting crap.
not even democrats are saying that they're going to win seats this year.

it's just a question of how deep their losses will be.

You say that like Republicans aren't big Government big Spending.

Republicans are the big government brain dead. They like big government for psychotic reasons, like to keep at bey monsters under their bed that have foreign sounding names and an eye on their wallets. They never met a big government military industrial police state they didn't like while spewing our their asses about government waste.

You could replace Republican with Democrat and your statement would be equally true. But of course, because of your self hate, you probably fail to see that.

Probably not. I already had this pointed out to me here:

So there it is, I see it on both sides.

Ah yes, I was wondering where Craig had been - there haven't been many anti-filibuster threads around here as of late.

This bill isn't perfect, as the industry has a lot of sway, including with Democrats. But it's better than nothing, and this is a win for the public.

Prove it.

And you can't use your standard argument of "All Republicans are evil - therefore if the Republicans are against it then it must be good for the public."

My read of the events of the past few days regarding finance reform bills is as follows.

(1) Initial GOP strategy the same on Finance reform. Block delay filibuster even the start of debate on the floor of the Senate.

(2) But oh no, all those democratic hearing and released email from crooked financial firms running rampant without regulation is stirring up the general public so the GOP is going to look bad if they do not allow floor debate.

My read of the future is:

(3) The GOP has already taken the donations from financial firms and is still committed to blocking any real finance reform. So the GOP will attempt to gut the bill into a toothless nothing, or failing that will filibuster the passage of any final bill while accusing the democrats of being unwilling to compromise.

Its a great gridlock game for the GOP to play until the dems are finally forced to restrict the use of the filibuster to prevent it being overused as a routine tactic.

Except for the fact that a Democrat joined in the filibuster..........

Nice try though.

You really are so sucked in to the partisan rhetoric game, you know that right?

Try actually listening to a different point of view than just Republican hating "progressives"

Your ideology is absolutely flawed. You would pass anything the Democrats propose, and say something is better than nothing, no matter how broken it is. You acknowledge the industry has a lot of sway; yet you credit this entire bill to the Democrats - so you are admitting your beloved Democrats are owned by the finance industry. Nothing surprising in that, but you are fine with it, because it's the Democrats!

Which party deserves to lose seats? Both. Which will? The Democrats. Both parties are just as bad, and you are blind and ignorant to deny that.

Both parties are just two sides of the same coin -- a coin that was recently extracted from a pile of manure, that is.

The only talk radio I have been able to find is on the right. Where's the left view radio? NPR, maybe?

The left are not as much into being indoctrinated daily, tv and radio etc.

Some people can make their own judgments about events without having someone program you for hours on end to be a angry, outraged wingnut in a right-wing fantasyworld complete with its own facts and historical revision.

What would you like me to do?

I absolutely do not like the "progressive" utopia being built, so I have to vote Republican. This past year plus has shown that moderate Democratic votes just do not exist. As much as we would like to be idealistic dreamers, the reality is if you like Obama's vision you vote Democrat, if you do not like Obama's vision you vote Republican.

What am I supposed to do?

Democracy does not provide the proper choices in elections. As much as I hate the parties, I have to vote for one. We're voting for parties, not individuals. I'd like it to be different, but that is out of my control.

If we assume the passage of the finance reform bill equals a public virtue and a filibuster against equals a public betrayal, I have to wonder about Petranus math.

Where Petranus implies the sin of once dissenting democrat is greater than the sins of the same ole same ole 41 dissenting Republirats on the wrong side of the interests of the American people.

Please go back Petranus and review your elementary school math before asserting you made a valid point.

Each of the the dessenting senators has a 2.5% responsibility. Which means democratic responsibility =2.5%.

41x2.5%=102.5% republican responsibility.

Yet Petranus sez 2.5 is greater than 102.5

Not trying to be ugly but does that mean checking the news once every week or two is all the left needs to be informed or is the indoctrination already in place? FWIW: I watch a spectrum of cable news and refuse to listen to Rush or Glen. They talk way too much.
