Then explain why Asians voted for O, 73% to 26%.

For a little perspective, consider the votes of another minority -- Asians. Romney won among all voters making more than $100,000 a year by a margin of 54-44. Asian-Americans happen to be the highest-earning group in the U.S., out-earning whites, and they generally place enormous emphasis on family. A perfect fit for Republicans, no?

No. Asians voted for Obama by 73-26; they were more Democratic than Hispanics.

Was it a messaging problem by the GOP? Free gifts? Something else?

It's because the GOP is racist.

Look at the voter groups. Obama's coalition was very diverse. Romney's coalition was almost 90% white! That is very suspicious.

The GOP and Romney only exist due to identity politics directed towards older white men.

As an Asian myself I find it amusing that so many of us voted for O (I didn't) despite that many of my friends and I are >$250,000 per year households and will be paying more in taxes federal and state wise once Dem policies kick in. Must be the religion thing I guess as it's definitely not fiscal reasons or for free welfare handouts.

Republicans believe a lot of things like tax cuts grow the economy and women can shutdown pregnancy from rape but none of it means that it's true, it just means they are idiots and easily manipulated by talking points.

I'm Asian and I voted for Obama. I receive virtually no benefits from the government.

The reason why I voted for Obama is that I believe in the long run, he's going to help the country out more.

People like to be short-sighted and think that if they're being taxed more, then they have to lower their standard of living. No, it doesn't work that way. It's all about the overall health of the economy. If the overall health of the economy is good, then your business will make you more money or your employer can afford to give you a raise.

It's all about the redistribution of wealth. Take money away from the .001% who have been stealing from us for so long and redistribute the money back to the middle class.

The wealthy have the money to buy lobbyists to create laws that favor them. The middle class are too busy to do the same.

It's only a small minority of republicans who have such stupid ideas, but it makes the party look really bad when nobody says anything about it.

It's sort of like how a police officer will murder a homeless person and the rest of the police will stand behind that murderer just because he's part of the team. It makes the entire force look corrupt even though it's just 1 murderer on a power trip.

Well to be fair haven't the Democrats been insisting that if Republicans want to win election they need to change their views on immigration (by which is meant their view on illegal immigration).

If Obama will open the floodgates for Hispanics and ignore the law; why not have him do so for all races.

sadly I believe they will need to not only change their views on immigration but also those on people who take and continue to take from the system in the form of social programs.

Personally I feel it is ridiculous but it is the american way it seems

This is why the Republicans just don't get it. They are so psychologically handicapped by their distorted view of reality they can't do anything to improve their support among hispanics.

Its not that the Republicans don't want to get more hispanic votes. Its that they are incapable of understanding and admitting to themselves the real reasons they don't get hispanic votes.

Republican candidates all over the country ran on the support of Arizona's show me your papers law. Yet, Republicans can't figure out why hispanics won't vote for them?

Republicans relationship to hispanics is just like an alcoholics relationship to alcohol. They both want their problems to get better but won't admit what the problem actually is.

Even if he can come up with some justification for that statement the reality is that the so called "middle class" demographic that both parties pandered to this election are ultimately the ones who will get whacked the hardest in the long term with higher taxes as just hitting the upper percentiles won't do much to assist the situation.

People I personally know who are feeling the pinch are younger contractors who aren't making a ton of money and due to their work, or rather job prospects have to live/work in expensive areas or else go on unemployment. I don't see this getting better, if anything this group and others like it will get squeezed harder while more and more benefits are given out on the lower end of the spectrum.

My favorite is all of the lower income housing developments in a certain liberal area here with all of the brand new BMWs, Mercedes, and other high end cars in the parking garages...always brings a smile to my face.

Don't get it or don't want to get it yet.....

I agree and again feel it is unfortunate that the party as a whole will have to suck it up and just live with the fact that amnesty will have to occur or some other type of reform, but really feel it is a sad state as here we have a good percentage of people who worked outside of the system in place and now are essentially getting a free pass.

Amnesty won't do a damn thing to get hispanics to vote for Republicans.
THAT'S the part they don't get. Reagan and the Republicans granted amnesty and they didn't get hispanic votes.

There is no tab for you to pick up. Those don't cost you a dime. Your taxes have gone down over the last 30 years. Try again.

The Republican Party has done everything it could over the last 20 years to appeal to racists who hate hispanics. And not only did they do a great job, they put many of these people into office.Racist language is used on a daily basis by Republican elected officials and by officials of the Republican Party. It has become accepted to use racist language in Republican emails, political forums, political meetings, press releases, etc.

Everything about the Republican party says that white people are real Americans, that white people are responsible for everything good about America and that hispanics are inferior people who are destroying America.

Good luck trying to get hispanic votes with all that hanging around your necks.

LOL, prove it. Republicans weed out the racists in their party, Democrats promote them to Senate Majority/Minority Leader.

How is having a problem with people breaking the law now make you a racist?

Just shows how much power, and to the left the MSM is.
