I don't have a crystal ball but meeting with constituents is a bedrock of grassroots. If R office holders hide behind a rock they will lose to candidates who seek out the constituencies.

I can't say this isn't conceivable but I do not expect these things. Beyond the constitutional constraints there's precedent, there's tradition, which involves expectations. The future is always uncertain, but 250 years of tradition isn't swept aside by the wave of a hand. Vice presidents have been certifying POTUS elections all this time. Has JD Vance said he's not going to certify the 2028 election? If he has any aspirations of being in politics after his term as VP he must know that his political capital will be trashed if he doesn't do as Mike Pense did on Jan. 6. That's considered a formality after 250 years. It's not birthday cake.
The law clarifies that the vice president's role in the counting of the electoral votes is "solely ministerial," with no power to "determine, accept, reject, or otherwise adjudicate or resolve disputes over the proper list of electors, the validity of electors, or the votes of electors."

Now, you'd still have to rely on potentially an unfriendly House/Senate.

Sounds like things aren’t going too well for American Democracy and a lot of people are very upset. If I were a Republican, I can imagine it having an effect on how sound I sleep to be honest which of course they’re not.

Meh, they've repeatedly shown that they will ignore the laws when it suits them. They know it takes forever for the courts to decide against them, and by the time they do, it's already too late.
Yes. But part of resisting Republicans is to claim the mantle of patriotism and the law and portray Republicans as lawless traitors to sway public opinion: it's political theater.

In most of their districts their only real fear is facing a primary opponent.
Well, a rep who won't see or talk to their constituency would seem to be a target for being primaried, no? The problem might be financing if the rep has big money behind them, but even then dissatisfied voters can depose.

All day too, apparently.

The bliss of being woven into a cocoon made of comforting lies and being read tall tales of white supremacy and shuttered borders is so much more compelling than having to face the fact that their being worms will not allow them to metamorphosize into beautiful flitty butterflies.

The bliss is in not knowing the treasure hidden within that the mystics tell us is there for he or she who works to see through the lie they do not deserve it. For others too fearful to look certain they will find only bad news, it's enough to deny those very much unconsciously felt feelings of guilt cause that are at the root of their misery. I remember as a kid coming home from school on my bike, getting caught in a cloud burst and trying to hide under a tree. As was typical of Hawaii, it could pour in your back yard and be dry in the front. After getting soaked I pedaled a short distance on and sure enough the ground was completely dry. In my case however, forever after I don't really mind being wet and sometimes don't even use a towel after a shower.

I live in an area with relatively high relative humidity, typically 60% or above.

Organisms like moisture including fungi and bacteria, and they can be quite problematical. I dry myself after bathing therefore. I also find it very hard to put on some of my socks if my feet aren't rather dry.

I live close to you and by the laws of physics dry to the same degree, it just taking a little more time. I only do so if the house is comfortably warm. Mold and fungus are ubiquitous and can thrive on wet towels. Keep your towels and your powder dry. In England was where I first saw heated towel racks. I guess people with money buy them so they can feel less worthless. They should be saying thank God I am able to take a bath.

Self explanatory Elon Musk owns part of Trump and Miriam Adelson widow of Trump's major donor in 2016 owns another part of Trump.

And this is the vision of most billionaires for those who are not wealthy investors or owners of valuable property and have to trade labor for a wage or salary.

Should be Rachel Reeves or Keir Starmer in the picture. We currently have a government of millionaires looking out for the interests of billionaires. I am so done with the "Labour" Party.

As long as they keep their social media, and conservative news media as their only source of information they stay in their cocoon. Now when they see their 401K and equity investment portfolios a whiff coffee aroma might float into the room. For the cult followers, it's just another reason to double down.
