Republican Sue Lowden: Chickens for checkups

I agree with her there. Doctors are sympathetic people. That is why they have one of their staff deny a person medical care b/c of inability to pay instead of doing it personally.

So...your boss walks up to you and says...no paycheck for the next couple of months, but keep coming to work...do you?

GOP has no healthcare plan, except for chickens 😀 If they did, they had ample time to pass it. They punted and Dems got the job done.

The problem with discourse in this country nowadays is that if you don't like what someone says you simply lie, make stuff up, and marginalize and hope it sticks. Fact is that the republicans put forth a few plans that were shot down, or dismissed, the dems closed them out of the process, and came up with something that is nothing even remotely resembling health care reform, yet count on their army of mindless zombies to repeat talking points over and over as if that's going to make it true.

GOP had 1994-2006 to pass their plans through Congress and six years of that of their own guy in the White House to sign it. They punted, Democrats got the job done.

That's not even relevant to the topic at hand, since I never suggested they should work for free. Lowden and other Republicans always seem to suggest that all decisions are made between a patient and their doctor, and they aren't. Decisions are made between patients and an intermediary who decides whether or not you can actually pay for whatever it is that the doctor can provide.

In short, not many people are actually going to negotiate with their physician for services. Instead, they deal with someone who might as well be a cashier at the grocery store. You aren't going to be able to offer to paint their house in lieu of monetary payment. The doctor's sympathy for your plight will be completely irrelevant in most cases, which is something Lowden hasn't grasped because she's probably never had to worry about it.

I think Sue Lowden needs to commit to taking poultry and painting services in lieu of her congressional pay if elected, and instead of the hated government paid congressional health plan, she should be on the FosterFarms plan with a drumstick deductible.

😀

Obamacare will cover a lot of people who won't need to bring chickens to get check ups. But I will ping my doctor see if he's up for taking chickens for at least co-pays.

How did it fix health care? Do you know the difference between health care and insurance?

Couple times I've worked with partial or no pay due to hard economic times. Each time I've gotten paid eventually. The alternative is to leave, collect unemployment (with which I have absolutely no problem), and try to find another job. If you have a reasonably good job, helping to keep your company afloat may be a smart thing to do.

I just wonder what happens if someone gets into a serious wreck and racks up $100K+ of medical bills. I am a bit concerned that patients dropping off 50 tonnes of chickens at the hospital may create an unsanitary condition. Maybe some facilities upgrades are in order before we implement this Republican alternative to Obama care. Maybe have chicken farms and slaughterhouses adjacent to medical facilities to handle this influx of poultry.

You're just asking to get screwed.

Sure, do you? You are expecting a 1 shot govt fix to a clusterfvck that took decades of free markets to create?

You are contradicting yourself. You claim the free markets created the clusterfuck but in the same breath say that "dems got the job done".... by giving those exact same free market, clusterfuck creating, entities a fuckton more business.

Mission accomplished?

Don't get me wrong, they few the serfs a few bones but the kings men (the clusterfuck creating free marketers) will be the true beneficiaries.

It was yet another gift to the health insurance companies. If you believe differently, you're a fool.

Umm, no pre-existing condition exclusion requirement + fairly weak individual mandate is not necessarily a gift to insurers. Would have been better with public option, but Lieberman and GOP blocked it.

LOL, free market health care? :awe:

OK, what would you call pre-Obamacare health care system? Because conservatives were complaining about it being a "government takeover" so to me that implies that it was not taken over by government before.

I bet every dollar I earn for the rest of my life that I will never get any benefit from Obamacare against one penny of your money. There is nobody that it can possibly benefit. It isn't going to cover anybody that isn't already covered, it's just going to cost those that don't get free coverage a chunk of their cash. Well, that's not true. It is going to give health insurance to illegal aliens that already receive free care. So I guess there's that.

Their stock prices this year disagree with you.
