In 2011 states across the Southeast passed laws that threatened private employers with dire consequences—including losing their license to do business—if they didn’t enroll with a federal data service called E-Verifyto check the legal status of new hires. Modeled after 2008 measures in Arizona and Mississippi and billed as a rebuke to a do-nothing Obama administration, the laws went further than those in the 13 states that required checks for new hires only by state agencies or their contractors.
Seven years later, those laws appear to have been more political bark than bite. None of the Southern states that extended E-Verify to the private sector have canceled a single business license, and only one, Tennessee, has assessed any fines. Most businesses caught violating the laws have gotten a pass.

If a fake ID is all that's needed to defeat E-Verify, what's the point? Besides holding a job, how was this illegal able to get a driver's license? Purchase a car? Who enabled him?

Especially with the murder of Mollie Tibbetts.
Who's murderer, by the way, worked on an "registered republican" owned farm in iOwa.
So, does anyone really believe that ANY of those rich iOwa republican farm owners, who by the way vote for people like Donald Trump and Chuck Grassley and Steve King over and over and over again thanks to district gerrymandering, really want to lose their cheap labor?
Does ANYONE believe that those republican farm owners in iOwa really care or want to know if their Hispanic workers on their farms are in the country legally or illegally?
NO! HELL NO!
THIS is EXACTLY WHY republicans in congress do the talk, but NEVER do the walk when it comes to cracking down on illegal immigration.
Those iOwa farmers simply LOVE all that cheap labor. Illegal or not, their only concern is $$$$$$$$$.

Or, pretending that "his wall" would actually make ANY difference.

Chuck Grassley, Steve King, all of them are such liars and A-holes.
They play up to that base, that anti immigrant Donald Trump base.
WHY?
Because they know it gets votes, and it stirs up their people, but the bottom line is and will forever be THEY LOVE CHEAP LABOR only possible thru hiring illegal immigrants.
So, they do nothing but build stupid senseless walls and talk tough about illegals.
And their base sucks it all up because THEY ARE MORONS TOO, and so easily fooled.
And those morons that live in iOwa and own farms in iOwa, they know nothing will ever change.
They know the Donald Trump's and the Chuck Grassley's and the Steve King's will protect them. And do nothing of substance addressing the hiring of illegal immigrants.

If Donald Trump were actually serious OR really cared, Trump would use his "wall money" to enhance and perfect E-verify.
To spread impenetrable E-verify across the nation like a plague.
To make laws to ensure iOwa republican farmers can not and will never hire cheap illegal labor on those republican owned iOwa farms.

THIS WHOLE THING IS SUCH BS.
That one iOwa farmer who hired this killer knew damn well his worker(s) are illegal.
And if he hired one, you can bet he hired many many more illegal immigrants to work for him.

iOwa senator Chuck Grassley knows that. Steve King knows that. And Donald Trump knows that.
They all know how important cheap illegal labor is to those iOwa farmers.

And to Nebraska farmers.
And to Kansas farmers.
And to Illinois farmers.
