Democrats are demanding he resign. I doubt it will happen considering even today Republicans insist they don't engage in either voter suppression or racism. As I've said many times that just isn't true
A Democratic member of the Wisconsin Elections Commission is calling on his Republican colleague to resign for praising lower voter turnout in Milwaukee during the 2022 general election that he attributed to targeting Black voters with negative ads, lawsuits filed by Republicans that added voting restrictions, and GOP campaigning that pushed Democratic voters to stay home instead of voting for candidates in their party.

Bob Spindell, the chairman of the Fourth Congressional District GOP and a member of the elections commission, told Republicans in a recent email the district party was proud of lower turnout in Milwaukee "due to a 'well thought out multi-faceted plan'" that included "A substantial & very effective Republican Coordinated Election Integrity program resulting with lots of Republican paid Election Judges & trained Observers & extremely significant continued Court Litigation," according to UrbanMilwaukee, which was the first to report on Spindell's comments.

Of course, elections commissioners are supposed to run elections fairly for all not skew for one side.

A Republican elections commissioner said he was proud of lower turnout in Milwaukee. Democratic colleagues are calling for his resignation. (yahoo.com)

It’s pretty clear that a good portion of republicans hate democracy.

I’m guessing not a single righty here will condemn this.

And then there are those republicans that will say they condemn the suppression with a straight face but they won't be able to keep that straight face going for long because they really didn't mean what they said. The whole party's mission is, after all, to win at any cost and to hold on to what they win at any cost. Morals and ethics are simply obstacles in their way. Even their devout religious folks have given up on being faithfully pious in exchange for supporting a known adulterer and tax cheat who's so very learned in the art of the scam.

Oh, shocker....Wisconsin. In the running for most regressive state in the already-regressive midwest. Most gerrymandered state in the union isn't enough, we need partisan election officials pulling fuckery too.

The GOP members here love boasting about how shitty of a person they can be. Robin Vos, the Fitzgeralds, etc. We excel at it, hell we sent one to Washington and he's one of the worst there now (Ron Johnson).

This surprises me not one bit.

This is why I tell people ignore the noise, ignore the news, just turn out in every election and vote party line. Party affiliation is number one predictor of policy. Everything else is a distraction to get you to vote against your own self interest or not vote.

Lets be honest. At this point Republican politicians could get on a mic, say a whole bunch of racial slurs directed at specific minorities, loudly announce they plan to create gas chambers for LGBTQ+ people, and piss on an original copy of the Constitution; and they'd get far more cheers than boos from their base.

I certainly haven’t seen anything that would contradict this claim.
