Awesome commentary! Very well thought out IMHO.

Forgot to add Im puzzled this interview came from Fox. I've always been told Fox is faux, and delusional, and carries the GOP flag

So in order to keep the costs down

Dems want:
- public option

Reps want:
- tort reform for frivolous lawsuits
- tax deduction for individuals
- ability to purchase health insurance across state lines

There's nothing mutually exclusive about those wants.

none of those things listed for the republican wish list will bring down cost or prevent them from going up.

tort reform? so what what does that do for mrs jones??
tax deduction? lol like a family making 40K a year with 100K in medical bills gives a flying fuck about tax deductions. lol give me a break
health insurance across state lines? how is that going to keep cost down?

I don't get it...

Someone on Fox News doesn't tote the so-called "Republican talking points" and all the left-wing blog sites high-five themselves?

What's up with the DailyKos headline "Shep Smith destroys GOP senator" ?

If anyone of them actually *watch* Fox News instead of just getting Jon Stewart's nightly recap, they'd have already known Shepard Smith speaks his own mind and is most certainly not affiliated with hard-right conservatives, nor is he even at odds with the bosses

Sometimes, I think Shepard Smith must be Faux's token sentient human being.

They don't just carry it. They manufacture it, an they're the wholesale distributor. The book allegedly authored by Sarah Palin, "Going Rouge" (in honor of her omnipresent red dresses) is published by HarperCollins, wholely owned by Rupert Murdoch's Newscorp. The bulk of those pre-orders are from right wingnut groups who plan to give them away as free promotional items, which is more than they're worth.

Exhibit A.

Sheps pretty cool but knowing what I do I'd have to say the reps will save money by obsfuscation and the dems by declaring pi=3.

Wow :Q

Is this book hurting your precious feelings? Does Sarah Palin really itch away at your own humanity?

I think it's doubly sad that you even know that. I'm sure you've called me a right wingnut on many occasions, wanting me to :lips: your (_._) for some reason I'm not sure why you like such things  I didn't even know Newsmax was running a promotion on them.

It's just a tad silly to see that you are more obsessed over this subject than any of the wingnuts you claim to be against :p

there have been 'movements' to have him removed from the network in the past. Not very successful mind you

No, I raised it in reply to blackangst1's post regarding Faux because Palin's publisher, HarperCollins, is part of the same Murdoch media conglomerate as Faux, and it IS the media voice of the Republican right wingnuts.

I think it's doubly sad that you even know that.

I think it's pathetic that you DON'T know that so many of those presales of her book were all hype.

I didn't even know Newsmax was running a promotion on them.

They're not the only ones. They were just a convenient example, but thanks for helping to make the point.

Makes you wonder just what is going on over there. Even O'rly said he wanted a public option.
What congress is doing I just don't know.

I don't understand the GOP talking points here either. Totally bipolar.
A.) We don't want big gov't, big spending, gov't run HC. Too much debt, we need to spend less. No nannystate, personal responsibility.
B.) We don't want any cuts to the big gov't run HC system. We want to increase spending, payments and coverage to take care of the sickest people.

Huh?

The article was written on the Oct 1st. As of today the book is still at the #1 spot on Amazon.com and #5 at Barns and noble. It has been sitting at the top for over a week.

Are you suggesting that Newsmax does its bulk ordering from Amazon or Barns?

you wouldn't have to purchase coverage for the quackery that some state lobbying organization representing said quacks got your state leg to require insurance plans to cover, but was unsuccessful elsewhere.

the question is if the 'public option' would have to include that coverage as well.

another question i have for public option: if there's not any tax dollars going into it, how's it going to be necessarily less expensive than the non-profits plans already available?

and if the insurance companies aren't competing with each other, then why aren't there well-publicized collusion investigations?
