I'm currently browsing with:

Pentium Celeron 3.06 GHZ
512 MB Ram
74 GB Raptor
Rage Pro graphics
CD Burner (no dvd)

If you had posted this yesterday I was playing around with a Celeron 2.5 GHz and would have replied from it. I won't be around that machine again until next Wednesday though.

Not currently using it (am on MBP), but have browsed using lynx under a modified ubuntu on a Zipit Z2 with custom flash that ran said modified ubuntu. Text mode in the forums is less than pleasant. PXA270 CPU (basically a halfpower version of what came in the Dell Axim's. 32MB RAM qvga screen, tictac like buttons. Twas originally a device you give to your tween kids before they could handle a cell phone - for "texting". Linux runs onto it and I soldered on a 3.3v serial port.

Heh that's exactly what I'm using right now as well (also my main work computer). It's a Dell Optiplex GX520.

Nothing says success like working on a 7 year old computer...I had them bump the RAM up to 2GB because Excel kept crashing when I'd open these giant spreadsheets with 250,000+ rows of data with vlookups to another tab. It didn't help much. I'm supposed to get a new computer sometime soon.

On my one and only machine. Have upgraded HDDs, CD and DVD drives, sound card and graphics card (only because my old one died). It is a Dell Dimension 8100, bought in June 2001.

Pentium 4 1.69GHz

Ok that's creepy because those are exactly my situation, pretty much word for word  I have also been working a lot with huge Excel files, had some crashing problems so I had the RAM upgraded a couple of years ago, and I'm also supposed to get a new computer soon

 I remember seeing that in some program about Babbage's difference engine. Or at least I came across that when reading about it or something. Amazing little piece of gear work. I can't remember the exact details but that little guy allows you to do some fairly complex calculation all using gear work in the space of a film canister! Any details Ruby?

It's a Curta calculator.
