these people are crazy. most of you need to get a life and stop being pussies. maybe it was bad taste but who gives a fuck. even if you were affected by VT shootings, whoop-dee-fucking do. how does this, in ANY way, affect you? People made fun of me the day after i accidentally killed my dog, did i whine and bitch and say it was too soon? no, i'm not a pussy so i realize it is the nature of some people and move on, not to mention even i found it funny. everyone needs to chill out...these people are too high strung

Penn St. taking a lot of black eyes lately. Ambushing opposing students with beer projectiles, football players home invading, and now tasteless costumes. Heh, wtf.

When did it become a requirement that all Halloween costumes must be either cute, funny, or sexy?

Doesn't matter to me that someone would dress up like that, or as Steve Erwin with a sting-ray in their chest...it is just a costume.

It is just a costume that makes light of the deaths of a bunch of people. In my book that makes them assholes. So I call them assholes. It has nothing to do with thin skin.

And you're the one allowing a costume to upset you.

Distasteful, but hardly newsworthy. If I saw them at a costume party, I really wouldn't care. I don't think anything should be off-limits.

As the guy said, it's just fucking costume.

This goes for all of you who don't see this as a problem...

Maybe for one second you can put yourself in VT Students position!!!!!! Do you know what that has done to our campus? Do you know what our campus was like that day? Do you know how hard it is for people to get over that? Do you know how hard it is to watch friends cry and not be able to do anything to comfort them!?

I listened to my best friend cry on the phone over the summer at one point after she lost her friend and pledge sister-- you have no idea the pain of not being able to help someone you care about.

I thought not, maybe you should learn some manners, because as far as I'm concerned, someone who doesn't see something wrong with this is heartless...

-Kevin

(I do not blame PSU for this, being a VT student, as you cannot judge an entire campus by 2 people)

I am not trying to discredit you and your friend's losses but people die all the time. It happens ... that's life. You can't call people who don't find this costume thing to be a big deal heartless. I wish I could say shock value was a new thing but it isn't...

I read a post from a former hokie from the 70's who actually admitted when they were in college they held a Jonestown punch party not long after that tragedy. His point was that it was no different. Horrific things like this are easy targets. People will exploit them for a laugh.

Poor taste. but they shoud be able to express themselves any way they want. As it says, it was meant for a small private party...but it got out. I think its fine.

They absolutely should, but that doesn't absolve them from criticism.

Which was exactly the point I was trying to get across. They criticize people for their reactions, when a reaction is exactly what they were trying to get in the first place.

He even said that they felt the need to push boundaries due to their reputation for shock value. If you can't take the heat...

I see where you are coming from, to that I say, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I realize this happens everyday, but this is an isolated incident that involved a huge amount of people, different emotionally (Though still death) for people.

I realize people aren't ever going to all be mature and respectable individuals, but that doesn't absolve them of blame for their actions when it gets out.
