Reposting from OS in hope of another answer
I repeatedly get this stop error with minimal components installed. (processor, ram, vid card, cdrom, hdd) The computer posts fine, will begin installation of win2k or winxp. Upon trying to install the OS, the following stop error occurs:

"*** STOP: 0x0000001A (0x00041284,0x003AE000,0x0000075D,0xC0502000) MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error..."

I've tried using 2 different hard drives that have been low level formatted. I've no clue what's wrong, can anybody lend a helping hand. Any ideas are always much appreciated. Thanks

Try different ram or slow it down as much as possible in the bios.
Slow all drives down in bios. (PIO mode)

Also, try copying the installation cd to the hard drive 1st & install it from there.

I had a poor stick of ram once that wouldnt let me insatll an OS, so I substituted different ram out of one of my other pcs & the OS installed fine.

Then once I had the OS installed, I put the "questionable" ram back in & I never had a problem with it after that. (go figure)
