I have bumped this post up to add a customer service review that happened with consumerdepot... see the post below.

Consumerdepot.com has the Kodak DC200 Plus digital camera for $146 shipped 2day fedex saver... the site says ground shipping but when I ordered the tracking # gives fedex 2day saver as the shipping type at fedex.com. It's a 1.2megapixel camera... pretty good, esp. for the price. Order went through quickly, camera came in after 2 days. This camera IS discontinued, but it is still covered by Kodak for warranty etc.

Yeah, I got it in on friday... it prints perfect-quality 4x6's on my hp deskjet 722c on glossy photopaper, and just-about-the-same as a 5x7... you can notice a little bit of fuzziness in hair at 5x7 and above if you look closely, but the camera is very good and gives good print images... built-in 1.8" lcd with editting functions in the camera.

If you want to see the review I did go onto the cnet link, it's review #7 as Triomferus on there.

Office Depot has the DC320 on sale for $149 - seems like a better deal. Would be even better is there was a price match / coupon opportunity ;)

BTW: Looks like consumerdepot is already out of stock...

How does this camera do in low light? Long waits? Poor picture quality? Some lesser expensive cameras... just can't take pics in low light.

Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks. Looks like a great deal.

It's great! Definatley Kodak quality here. I took a piture with my DC200 at candlelight and it came out! Mine was an open box DC200 Plus, but it came with a 8 meg card instead of a 4 meg (cool!). Anyway, the $149 deal for the DC320 is better because it's a newer model with a USB interface, but it only has 2 megs of memory.

This isn't a "cheapie" camera... it is just one that got discontinued by Kodak recently. It takes about 5 seconds between pictures at 1.3 megapixel no compression resolution. The pictures are printable developer-quality at 4x6 and 5x7", and look perfect on the computer. Lighting it handles pretty well, and if you get a too-dark or too-light shot merely adjust the contrast of the image inside the camera (it has some basic photo-editting built into the camera). All of these questions were answered in the reviews I posted btw...

The DC320 has 2 megs *INTERNAL* memory. Not a flashcard... INTERNAL. Meaning it isn't as good since you can't upgrade the memory as far as I can tell... lemme know if I'm wrong about this. EDIT: The camera has 2mb internal... you have to buy a seperate flashcard to use with it for photos. It is lower resolution than the DC200 plus, but has built-in zoom (the dc200 plus you have to attatch a small lense for optical zooming). Officedepots are over 3 hours drive from me, in the middle of NYC, not exactly the ideal place to go... friend of mine actually got hit by an attempted mugging when trying to go into office depot there to get in on some of the B&M deals posted here... I'll pass :).

Alright, I got the camera in yesterday. Happily unpacked it, inserted my 1500mah rechargeable batteries, booted up the camera, but the camera kept shutting off every couple of seconds, sometimes staying on a couple of minutes or several seconds. I kept trying different batteries and tried to figure out what was wrong, when I finally realized something: one of the 2 latches that holds the batteries down on the lid was broken off! Called up consumerdepot (they don't have an 800 # unfortunately) and got picked up after a couple of rings, transferred instantly to their customer service department, and told them what was wrong. Asked them if I could send it back to get a different one, they said they had 9 in stock, so I said I wanted to order one and get an RMA for the one I have so I'll have a fixed camera in quickly again. Got it charged, and I'm gonna get credit back on my cc as a refund as soon as they get the camera I'm sending back in. People there didn't give me any hassle and were very polite and good.

Just figured I'd post this up quickly... they aren't taking any online orders, their site has said out of stock for a week or so. I'm guessing they had some set aside for retail sales (since they are really a retail store with a national website) and maybe 5 or so in case any had problems like mine unfortunately did. What really stinks is it isn't technically even the camera that's defective, it's a tiny 2mm long piece of plastic for god's sake :( they probably can't even fix it and are gonna have to just dump it once they get it back and take a loss kinda stinks. I wasn't sure if they'd count it as defective or not, was worrying I'd have to just outright return it and end up without a camera for several months. Gotta admit I'm impressed :).

that camera isn't as good* ;) but it is the only current hotdeal on a camera hehe.

*Doesn't come with compactflash card (comes with 2mb built-in memory), but has a 2x zoom lense in it unlike the DC200 had, though dc200 had a 4mb card included. Also the DC3200 has a USB connection instead of having to use a flashcard reader like you have to with the dc200.

They sent me an 8 meg Cannon brand CF memory card with mine. Not complaining :)
