I did it over the phone (888-463-3768) to OfficeDepot.com for pickup at my local store.

You do NOT know what I went throught to get this for what it really is...

All of the OD CSR whined about it costing 24.99 (originally did, but not during special now), just like OD. They were wrong, as usual. Then, one of them thought that the 12.99 included the $8 MIR! I told him it didn't, because they never do it like that. So a supervisor called OfficeMax to confirm this. Guess what? I was right! So, I ordered that at 12.99, a CD holder, an Epson ink cart., a ream of paper, and a monitor dust cover. Total? 50.00 w/ free shipping. For me? $35, w/ coupon. Plus, I get to use the $20 MIR. Dang, I'm good.

MIR will work when you pricematched the thing, right?

Hmm...
Replying automatically puts the same face! Didn't notice that...
This is a good deal! Had to talk to a supervisor to knock some sense into her...

Will the MIR work even if the pricematch brought it down so much?

Yes. I've done many where the rebate exceeded the purchase price and the full rebate amount came.

Hey...I just realize something.....since OD takes competitor's coupon, you can pick up the mesh mid back chair for $25.99 and the CDR's and use the 10 off 40 staple coupon then send in the rebate, so your total after MIR is likt $10 plus tax for a chair and CDR....not bad.....going to pick up my order tonight.....woooo.....:):(

The pricematch worked for me.

I went in and asked them to pricematch to the $12.99. The clerk called the manager, and she said that she would do it but I wouldn't get the $8 OM rebate (obviously) and that she didn't think there were any rebates from OD. I said okay, and it was funny to see the shock in their eyes when the $20 rebate printed out with my receipt. She just looked at me and said, "Looks like you just made some money."

Those sneaks at the SF OD. I went in to pick up my CDRs today. After my recent printed she said have a good day and proceeded to help the next person. The cash register was printing my rebate out still. I stood there and waited. After it came out I said "Is that for me?". She says no and rips it up and throws it away. Not worth an argument since I can just print out my own.

Hey guys,

I tried with two persons and no go. I was planning to order $75 worth of stuff so I get the free shipping. I also had the $15 of $50 coupon. Anyways, I called the 1-888-GO-DEPOT number and the person told me that they will pricematch with anyone and to call immediately after I order online. So after I ordered, I called and the person was the same person since they said which item and what's the OfficeMax item number so I gave it to them and then they go look and said the $12.99 is a limited time offer and it was not appliable so then I called again and got a different person who asked me what item and I said Memorex CDR and he said, that product doesn't apply before even going past that. So what did you guys tell them exactly on the phone?

Worked for me. The first guy I talked to said he couldn't do the pricematch. Luckily, my old roommate was working. We went up to the counter and he told the chick to do the PM.

Well, my local one price matched to 4.99 - and were real nice about it. The funny thing is they fought about it and eventually the overwhelming majority said 4.99. *shrug*

Ah well, makes up for the last time I price matched at OD and got a real jackass manager ;-)

Just had to talk to two different people at Office Depot and still didn't get anything out of them. They called and confirmed that it was 12.99 at officeMax, but then they told me that they cannot price match to other peoples' online prices, just their catalog prices. OfficeMax's catalog price is $24.99 so they wouldn't pricematch it for me.

What the hell is up with peoples' pricematch policies? They are designed to pretty much never work.

Worked great for me...took the OM printout to an OD in Bloomington, IL on Thursday night (18th) and the checkout girl did the PM with no hassles. "That's a good price," she remarked.

I was going to do it again in Chicago, but the checkout girl kept my printout. Now the price at OM is back to $24.99 so this deal is DEAD. Got one spindle, though, and I really need it...
