Could you pls explain why you want apple? Who needs their PCs? And why? If I had a Mac, it would stand and cover with dust b/c I got absolutely no use for it.

I went into one once and the guy asked if I was a big fan of mac... I laughed and said "nope, you make it so I can hook up that 23" cinema display to my pc and that'll be the first apple product I'll buy!"

:D

needless to say he was kinda shocked, but then most zealots are when they get paid to reel stupid people into buying a hideous lamp-post

I have one and I make more then most people still in college, but I still think $2,700 for a computer is too much.

Why wouldn't you want it? The OS is great, works with most all unix programs, just about every game out there is also out for mac, and they look snazzy.

I think at this point the only reason most people use windows is because it is "freeware". If you had to pay for everything on your computer, would you really stick with Windows if you didn't have to?

Psst... Windows isn't free, but there are other systems that are available for X86 that are... Unix clones... just like OS X... ;)

Still people prefer windows... Personally, i don't think it's because it is better, more because it has become a standard...

lol...as if that is adhered to. If MS was able to pull off a system were you could only install the OS on one computer (and there were no corp. warez versions) you can bet your ass there would be a significant drop in the amount of people using the new OS.

It IS a standard, and it IS easier to install, configure and use. Actually, nevermind configure, you don't even have to do that anymore. :p

Back in the 9x days, it was a little less certain of who was "better" (depending on your definition), but these days with 2k and XP, there really isn't any reason for a regular joe to use anything else. Everyone writes software for Winbloze... so people use it. There may be many bugs or downsides, but there are a lot more plus'.

Yup, for most people it's great that you cannot configure it, that way, they can't screw it up... :D

Hahahaha.... RIGHT! The only reason I would buy a Mac is for photo editing... NOT to match the color with my curtains.

Psst... it is why I put it in quotes.

You know damn well most people "get" their copies of Windows and a whole lot of the software for it.

Don't go being all high and mighty on me and tell me that isn't true.

Wow, what an ignorant comment. Everything you can do on a PC you can do on a Mac. Office, IE, games, AND COMPILE UNIX PROGRAMS TO RUN ON A MAC which you CANNOT do on a PC.

How could you not want such a good interface to Unix? Hell, if you don't like it, you can compile KDE and use that instead.

No, they are NOT "just like OS X"

OS X has a very large (compared to linux) industry backing. There are actually games and office suites available to OS X.

No, i know it is true... and shoplifting is pretty common too, does that mean that it's free?

Stealing is stealing, and basically, that is what it is...

It does? compared to Linux? I wouldn't think so... and yes, there are actually games and office suites available for Linux too... not MS office though... wonder why? ;)

Why would I compile UNIX programs to run on a Mac when I don't want to own a mac in the first place? UNIX is not the be all and end all in the computer industry! Just because it support *NIX, dont mean I'm gona jump ship to Apple. It just don't make any sense! I'm mostly a gamer, so Macs are useless for me. They have some games, but they come out way later then their PC counterpart, and not every game is included. If you seriously believe Macs have the same support for games windows have, your on crack!

Wow. Once again.. DEAD WRONG

When is the last time you actually looked? Mac has Warcraft III, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Star Wars Galatic Battlegrounds, The Sims Hot Date, Black and White, Civ III...

And those are only the ones I can remember off hand.

Once again, I don't belive that Macs have the same support for games the Windows warez community has, but, if you buy games, then you can get just about everything.

OpenOffice is free, it's an office suite, it works as well, if not better than MS Office, and it works on *nix. As for games, there arent many native ones, but with wine, almost everything works.

If you are a gamer, and like your games on windows, thats great, don't go knocking another great product (Apple Macintosh) just because you don't want to use it.
