I just read the Reporter Kevin Sites own words about the events caught by him about the marine shooting incident. Its long reading but it gives you a better understanding on what exactly happen.

link

edit: if its a repost i'm sorry.

thanks for the link. His illumination of one incident gives a lot of insight into why war is truly hell, for everyone it touches.

A good reason to remember why it always must be, the absolute last resort.

what exactly happened was a reporter that had no business being over there took a picture of a US soldier shooting an "unarmed" person inside a mosque

"These were the same wounded from yesterday," I say to the lieutenant.
-you have no right saying anything to the people protecting your butt from being in places you shouldnt unless YOUR safety and everyone elses safety is threatened

reporters dont belong there, had almost any of us been in that same situation we probably would have done the same thing... i dont believe this story the reporter is telling now about no weapons being in the building (these guys could have been chased from all the other houses on the way that were full of weapons - if you remember reading that)

This is a bunch of bull S*** that this guy will be considered a criminal for shooting a guy that was shooting at him earlier... i woulda popped him right between the eyes

The little weasel was probably jumping up and down in excitement that he caught it on tape, in hopes that his pathetic existance would be somhow validated.

War is hell and the peons have to do the dirty works and take the wrap for it. While the ring leaders are being praise by the ignoramus.

The marines who did this were cowards and deserved to be punished to the full extent of the law. Toss them in jail.

We have no business being over there anyway...

Anybody who has half a brain should read Said's Orientalism, then re-read all of the 'expert literature' on the Middle East.

Makes a BIG difference.

The reporter was doing his job, and it's an important one. If you guys want to live in a police state with government controlled media, there are plenty out there to choose from. I prefer to know what's being done in my name.

didnt the reporter say a couple times that he didnt think he had just shot some prize video?
i think the reporter regrets being there as he didnt want to make tarnish the image of the marines. But he was there...and he did happen to shoot that video. He couldve destroyed that footage, but that would mean he'd have to abandon what he believes in...and ignore one of the founding principles of this country.

It just pisses me off, that just when the troops are getting a morale boost from a very successful operation, some imbedded journalist has to report something to taint the entire event. Bottom line: he knew if he reported the story he would make a name for himself, whether or not it causes another soldier his career. Another thing, he was not playing a passive role, as he was interacting with the troops telling them things, such as "these are the same ppl from before.. bla bla bla." That's not his job, thus he should keep his mouth closed. He sounds like a weasel. He'll turn in his own mother for a story that will make him climb the ladder.

Thanks for involving yourself in a converation about the reporters thoughs w/o reading the link, where the reports states his thoughs...

After reading this I'm still torn, essentialy I think we have to give credit to the marine, as mentioned in the article, war is about killing the enemy before they kill you.

Glad to see you're not being judgmental.
