The Jets are not known for accurate passing, maybe they were just trying to complete a play on the field? 
While there is no reason she can't wear something more appropriate on the sidelines, no reason she should be distracting the players who are supposed to be able to tune out stuff like that.

This reminds me of a joke by George Carlin.
