Reportedly more cyclists than cars in London

I agree, I only like 6.5 miles from work and I would definitely ride it if the roads were good for it. There's pretty much no shoulder most of the way there and I just don't trust people. A guy I work with used to ride to work, he got run off the road several times and eventually got hit and broke his leg.

Cycling is communism 😛

This is fantastic news. Too many cars take up too much space on the roads whether in places bikes make sense.

I will be biking to work once a week once the weather warms up. I'd do it more but I bring my dog to the office, so wouldn't want to leave him at home much.

But yes, being able to do errands and general outings by bike is amazing.

I've spoken about my therapeutic bike rides all over NYC. And David Byrne agrees, it's the best way to explore a city, weather permitting. The amount of diverse things I can see, eat and immerse myself in by bike in a day are insane. From the intensity of midtown Manhattan to the peacefulness in Central Park, start off with a smashing bowl of ramen, head through so many neighborhood in Brooklyn to Coney Island and spend some time on the beach. Drink a nutcracker, go on a roller coaster, stop and get some borscht in little Russia over there, head back to Manhattan a different way, stop and get some key lime pie in red hook by a place that just makes key lime desserts. It's crazy.

Had Afghan kebab in Queens once we randomly found, by an Afghani immigrant. Uighur Muslim food another time - hand pulled noodles by the immigrant mother who barely spoke English. Those noodles were the best I've had. Not enough time in life to try enough

You need a cargo bike or a trailer. You can find used kids trailers pretty cheap on Craigslist.

Urban areas should start charging a congestion tax that goes straight toward public transit and biking/skateboarding/scooter paths. Should also consider slapping a tax on parking fees that also goes straight to the same and maybe parks.

Lol London was terrible as a kid, too. Hated having to go there with my parents as a child. We lived far south of it. Where the air was clean, grass was a plenty and you could have fun doing just about anything.
