UPDATE: Just after noon Wednesday, OU alerted students that normal operations have resumed. OU released this statement on its Facebook page:

"However, according to OU, no evidence has been found of any shots being fired. There are no injuries reported at this time. Both the Norman and OU police department have very quickly responded as well as emergency personnel. President Boren is at the scene. Normal campus operations have resumed except for Gould Hall where additional checking is continuing."

Jesus, the 6th shooting this year (30 last year according to wikipedia). As a Canadian, I find this quite disturbing. Why so many guns in the US?

The Gun is not the problem, more guns in Canada.

The people is the problem. Something is going wrong with the Mental health of Americans.


I suspect is the later generations raised on all kinds of psychotropic drugs as a way of making them docile and quiet in school and at home with todays busy parents who have no time to raise or discipline their latchkey overstimulated children.

This one's easy: The right to bear arms is in our Bill of Rights.

As for the deeper questions, I have no clue.
