<< So uh... how would you lose your money? The only way that you would have to pay him back is if ebay did something about it. And if you explain your situation to ebay with proof, then they should take care of it >>

What proof do I have?? The only proof that I have is the receipt that I sent him the chip. But he's saying that I sent him a dead chip. There's noway I can prove that it's working when it was with me. I knew it was working ebcause that's my only CPU! :(

I just want to see that there's a statement of transfer in my bank account. That's all.

What are you talking about?

Anywayz, how can he prove that it was doa? He can't. I don't think he has any proof on his claim.

Don't let his negative eval sway you in any way. There's a small chance that it can be removed if there is adequate evidence that you're being jerked around. A negative isn't the end of the world. Considering how easy it would be for him to have damaged the CPU, I'd say you stand up well. You were using the CPU up until when? Any proof of when you put the new CPU in? (Trying to find all the bases that could be covered)

Don't zap him immediately with a negative.

Ew..

<< Payment Instructions - Please paypal your money . . . if you're the winning bidder. Items would be sent out within 1 or 2 days. >>

Doh

For the record, things that would have made your case ironclad:
-Pictures of the CPU (video if you get anal about it)
-Your emails. For the record, try to keep all correspondence for a trade/deal together
-Being prompt

He does not?? Then, what proof do I have that it was working when I sent it out?? I have nobody to prove it for me except for those who are staying with me and knows that I've always been usingt he same CPU.

I did not zap him with a negative. I just defended myself in that response.

your ebay rating of 4 versus his 0 isn't very convincing, so don't bank on that from ebay...

did you already deposit your paypal into your bank account? and remove the account # from paypal? did the guy file with paypal and lock your account?

using hotmail isn't a good enough excuse, not enough for me, and i doubt for ebay...there's the easy option of checking the save copy of sent mail checkbox, which i use for all ebay/money transactions...but don't fret, just be more careful next time. finally, it doesn't sound like it, but is the ebay description "sold as-is"?

Ebay doesn't suck, some of the users do. I just gave negative feedback to an individual that misrepresented the condition of an item I won the bid on, siad he would send a partial credit to compensate for the error, then renig on his promise.

Please handle all transactions with common sense.

this is exactly why I dont deal with E-bay. its full of morons now "most?" are lagit traders, some are just stupid, but then you run into the REAL morons, I only do sales and trade over anandtech FS/T now. good people over there for the most part and the bad apples are weeded out quickly.

That guy did not file with paypal. I'm paypal verified and had deal with 9 verified buyers. My account is still pretty much alive and all the transactions are still there. The money is in my bank now.

I did not say that the CPU is sold as is because I believe that line is not very convincing to people. Buyers want a working CPU and I assured that it's in TIP TOP condition and working. That's why I did not put "As is" in my ad page.

Leave him negative feedback. Trust me, if you have a bidder at -1, almost ALL sellers will cancel bids with people with a -1 feedback rating.

I'd give it a day or two to show that you're trying to resolve the situation. Can't argue with what mrcodedude said, a sub-zero feedback rating can be nasty.

I'm waiting to see what is there to be done now. I just emailed him saying that I'msorry for being slow BUT the CPU was never dead. As said earlier. He never replied to any of my mails. He's not even helping out in this deal. The only thing he's doing is threatening me by saying that he'll report me to the authorities yada yada yada...

u still have his mailing address right? Try sending him a letter via Snail mail with a delivery confermaiton and explain EVERYTHING to him. This was if there is indeed a problem with your e-mail that he will know whats up. I have never ran into this type of crap on eBay, so I consider myself lucky. Nothing beats the good ol' FS/FT forum though...:)

Yes I do have his mailing address. What is there to mail to him? I sent all the mails to him. He's using two mail addresses now. I'm not sure why he wants to do that. I've even explained everything in SquareTrade. :(

Bootymac. I'll kill you. :)

Problem is, the fool can make a new ebay account in only a few seconds, especially if they are an AOL'ers. He/She wont care about ditching their "disposable" account. Though, they may retaliate by giving you, the seller, a negative before making their new one. That negative will hurt you more.
