What is it that people cannot discern the difference between "Reply" and "Reply to All"? Is it really so hard??!?
Example:
An email appears in my inbox asking for 25 volunteers to test a new property management system thingy here at the CDC. It states very clearly in the body of the message that those interested should reply only to the originator of the message and that they would send out a second notice once they'd filled the 25 slots.
This, of course, triggers a flurry of "I'm interested" messages.....to everyone on the goddamn list.
After about 40 of these, the "We have filled all slots, please do not reply further to the original email" notice appears.
People, being morons, continue to reply (To all.....naturally) to the original email saying they're interested.
Finally, someone gets fed up and sends a "Stop fscking replying to all you assclowns! You're swamping my Inbox!"
What happens? A bunch of other people pipe up to say "Yeah! Quit it!".........and of course they "reply to all" as well to vent.
This went on for most of one day and accounted for about 200 messages total as people bitched about "reply to all" and other clueless people opened their mailboxes for the first time that day and "replied to all" to volunteer for the program that had already been filled for the better part of 6 hours. :|
