Nope. Costco's out of the 5080, they're now selling the 5060 for $249 w/o rebate.

I guess the 5060 is just a 5000 with a 60GB HD. It is not listed on the SonicBlue website. Costco always has these funky model numbers for products that don't seem to be available anywhere else.

rab,

where are you finding a 5060 at $249, which location.

in houston on Katy Frwy, we only have the 4508 for $250, no rebate. it's 80 hrs vs. 60 but i would rather have a 5000 series.

Yeah, I heard Houston mentioned as one of the locations with the 45xx series left over at AvsForum.

Customer service said the 5060 should be available in most Costcos soon, if they haven't got them in already.

Have them check for SKU# 675213.

I currently have 2020 ReplayTV(panasonic showstopper) w/ free lifetime service(though you can't be sure how long that "life-time" would be 😉 )

I have a question for you all...
I'm thinking of getting the 5040... but i know that there's a service fee($10/month or $250). I was thinking that i would just pay for the 1st month for $9.95 and cancel the service. All i would need is keeping the time updated on the machine. I don't even need programming updates...just as long as it can keep the time setting current.
Is there any way to keep the time updated automatically on the new machines without subscribing? Perhaps a patch to dial up like the old machines to just keep the time intact...

Yuniverse

any help would be appreciated.

What are you planning to do with it?

I'm sure you could force it to connect & update using 243-Replay Zones, but it won't function as a DVR without the service.

I have a korean satellite and i just manually program times to record...
if that 243 connect would work on 5040 and perhaps keep the time current on the machine, i'm there!

To those who have tried both Replay and Tivo is is easy to switch from Tivo to Replay and is it worth the change? Ever since I got the Tivo the TV is my Moms 🙂 and she has a slow learning curve when it comes to these new fangled things, but she loves the Tivo. I want to switch because I have a 60 hour unit and the 80 hour seems much better and also the subscription fee is less (not to mention I hear you can organize your lists online, Tivo will offer this soon but with a service charge).

*edited*BTW: Our VCR hasn't been used for over a year or two, don't know if it even still works. Barely used it before the Tivo and now we watch TV every day.
