Replacing Video Card Help

I have a Radeon 5970 I am looking to replace with the most bang for the buck for my 9 year old. I am building a new pc for myself and when I give him my current build I want to upgrade the card.

I am looking to spend no more the $250. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

The 5970 is a pretty quick card even today. Its somewhat hampered by its lack of VRAM (1GB per core) but other than that its still up there with the current top end cards as long as the game scales well with crossfire.

$250 will only get you similar performance (obviously less power, noise and more consistently since its a single card).
