I've had this x120e for two years and it's worked great, but for some reason the keyboard decided to go on me. I bought a replacement and plugged it in but the same keys are not working which leaves me puzzled and thinking there's something jacked up with the connector on the mobo.

I've been looking at replacing it with a pretty tablet (I don't own one). iPad/Apple is out leaving Android/MS. I'm not a fan of just getting a bigger version of my phone, so that knocks Android out of the running leaving me with MS. And I don't feel like dealing with a dumbed down OS which leaves me with Windows 8.1.
That said, which would be my best bet? The Surface Pro 2 looks like a great piece of machinery and I can get a 10% discount on it. I think the 8gb/256gb version would be the way to go which will set me back about $1170. Is there anything else out there that can compete with the SP2?
