unfortunately their website sucks to narrow down their models unless I missed something.

My wife got me turned on to handhelds. I used to hate the extra bulk in the shower, but as a handyman type of guy I really have had a use to directing the water to the stains and debris on my body.

Plus brings a new twist to shower masturbation when your really home alone.

Make sure you get one that allows you to remove the water restricter.

Wasteful an unnecessary.

Why don't you run a main line of 2" all the way up to your rainlocker and install a chemical emergency showerhead with 200gpm flow? :biggrin:

The point of a shower is to get you wet. Higher flow = wet faster, rinse faster. The total volume of water is up to the user. Low flow showers are false savings if you have to spend more time and more water waiting to get wet/rinsed.

I like the lower flow with higher pressure though. Some of the heads just feel like a bucket dumping on you. Also if water hardness is not maintained it will take longer to rinse off.

Plumbing code & mechanical enginering practice call for 4 GPM and max at 6 GPM in 1/2" tubing be it copper or plastic to shower/tub.

Most local juridiction follow the water conservation practice that forces manufactures restrict flow to 2.5 GPM in shower head (some flow restrictor dial it down to 1.5-2 GPM).

The flow restrictor was introduced by conservation group is because the modern asshats often take shower much longer than the 5 minute showers (or rougly 20-30 gallon per shower) that was engineered and still practice today in mechanical code.

Let jump the the 200 GPM requirement. Depends on local juridiction, service line from water main can be 3/4" max 11 GPM, or 1" max 18 GPM. That mean you must have at the very least 12 1" service lines, or a 4" service pipe. That said, nope you are not going to get a 4" service pipe. However, you can install a storage tank, a pressure tank, and a booster pump to deliver that volume if you must.

LOL I was being sarcastic to the extreme. I do agree with you about the ridiculously LONG showers. Must be a guy thing. Oh wait I know what they're doing in there. That explains the kitten hair in the traps. 😉

We do have emergency washdown showers though and they're plumbed with a two inch pipe. There's definitely a pump connecting them to the water bunker. Flow is 200gpm and I've seen them tested and have no argument regarding the flow. Picture sitting on a bench along side a road when a large truck drives through a deep puddle at high speed! That'll drench you!

In the home I suppose you would need a decent tank somewhere to hold reserve and a nice pump too. Imagine KITTs TURBO BOOST. Feeling your shower is wimpy and need some extra splash? Hit the turbo button and hold on. BTW to save energy the water in the tank is NOT heated so it may feel chilly compared to how hot some people make their showers. 😉

It would be fine for you to take a swipe. It does keep things interesting that way 😛 It's not like you should be worried about hurting an internet member's feelings 😛 Besides I know where I stand. Anything you said that I didn't agree with would be a lie anyways, so whats it matter? XD
