I am temporarily replaceing an Asus p4s8x with an Asus p4s800. I can't get the fsb above 100 on the old board. Have updated bios and chipset drivers. Just want to see what will happen with the new board

Both board have the same chipset. Is there anything I really HAVE to do before I switch motherboards.

Is there anything I should uninstall first or instal or whatever? Just want to know if I will have any problems and what I can do to avoid them.

p4 2.4 Northwood
Radeon 9600 pro
2x256 Corsair XMS 3000
Win XP Pro
Maxtor 80 gig 7200 8 mg 133

Any advice would be GREAT, Leigh

Oh,

I should have said I have the new motherboard already here. Was laying around from a build that I never did. So only researching software or hardware problems that I might encounter by switching out the mobo.

And how to avoid them.

Even though they are the same chipset, you may have to do a repair install with windows XP, other than that you should be good to go.
