Replacing Ipod HD

I've followed the video how to's for replacing the HD on my ipod - but it still isn't working. The new HD came with a label that said 'formatted for fat32' I'm not sure what file system the ipod uses so I'm not sure if this is the issue. Has anyone had any luck swapping HDs or anything that could possibly give me some help?

Basically I've gotten it into disk mode - and as soon as I connect it to the PC nothing happens. Thanks in advance..... I'm trying to save myself from buying a new playere

HERE is something for you. It should be fine to have your Ipod in FAT32..

Have you tried using Itunes yet? possibly it needs to install something or detect the Ipod?
