There is a big crack on the front bumper cover ov my 2002 SC2 and the whole thing needs to be replaced.

I was thinking that instead of paying a few hundred in labour charges, I could just do it myself (I heard that it shouldn't be too difficult).

What are your thoughts? Do it myself, or let the saturn dealership do it?

It's plastic, just wave a heat gun over it until it melts together. :p :D

...

Seriously, a bumper removal on most any small car is easy. Think of it this way - if a ricer can do it, you certainly can.

I'd suggest it being at least a two-man job, and for the love of all things (un)holy make damned sure the car isn't going anywhere if you put up on blocks to work on it.

Don't go to the dealership. Go to a real bodyshop. They will do it for less. But if you are mechanically inclined, give it a shot.

The problem is not finding the part and installing it, it's that the part will be unpainted. So, hopefully your color car looks good with a grey primer bumper cover. Probably tough finding one at a junkyard in your color that still looks good.
