Replacing fog lamps

I want to replace the fog lamps in my 98 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. The bulbs still work, but the lenses are both screwed up.

I am not looking for something that will blind drivers 4 miles down the road, I just need a good clean replacement. Looking on e-bay I found a few like this. Thoughts?

Honestly, anything that will fit in the stock housing should be OK.

Have you tried just polishing the lenses though? http://forums.anandtech.com/me...y=y&keyword1=headlight

It won't really work in my case. It looks like the lamps melted the plastic from the inside, which also caused the center of each lens to shatter, allowing moisture in. So unless I clean the inside it will not do much.

I already stated that 1) I don't want anything fancy or brighter than stock and 2) I am driving a truck. If I ever see anyone driving a full size truck with those on them I will run them off a cliff and put them (and their truck) out of their misery.

In that case, just price dealer replacements or third-party units meant to fit in the OEM mountings. If you know a good mechanic he should be able to find the parts for you and let you order them through him.

Are there any cheap online stores that do this? I am pretty much a car newb and am not familiar with anything beyond Autozone for stores. I can install it fine if it fits the factory mount/wiring, I just need a part source.

Dealer is usually the main source for parts like that, online is hit-or-miss depending on the vehicle.

Even AutoZone might have it though. Go in and ask if they can look up the fog light assemblies for your truck. If not AutoZone, NAPA might. Even from the dealer though it shouldn't be more than about $150 to get both assemblies.

you dont want anything brighter than stock foglights? then don't use them. they'll be useless and the light won't help u see any better than your low beams. really? you'd "run them off a cliff and put them out of their misery" if they had some nice and bright foglights that help them see better???

foglights also aren't used to blind people 4 miles down, they brighten up the immediate front and sides of the car in harsh weather and nighttime.
