My truck started making a chirping noise on the passenger side when I do a hard acceleration like to pass someone. Researching it, it looks like I need to replace my passenger side exhaust manifold. I don't wrench and don't even know where this thing is located, but from what I understand I'd have to remove my turbos to get to it. For a novice like me, would you say a job like this would be too difficult? If one side is going out, should I go and replace the driver's side also? I did change my spark plugs for the first time Saturday and although I was successful doing that, it did take me 3.5 hrs lol.

If there is any rust count on a bad time. I've done this and ended up removing the head to drill out the broken bolts. Though, I wouldn't think things would be that bad yet on a 2014.

How long can you afford to have the truck out of commission? And yes, you would want to do a detailed inspection of the condition of the bolts...but I would guess if it is leaking you likely have some broken bolts.

Can you get away with just replacing the gaskets? Odds are, you have a warped manifold as well...(apparently it's not uncommon)

And many more:

Yep. Ironically posted today on another (non-car) forum I frequent:

"Pretty over my 2016 F150 3.5 ecoboost. I replaced the turbo manifolds less than a year ago with aftermarket ones that are thicker and not supposed to warp. The drivers one is warped. I was hoping it was the turbo to manifold gasket. I replaced that yesterday it wasn’t the problem. But now the coolant line to that turbo is puking fluid. So I’m gonna fix it and trade the damn thing in."

I haven't done anything except changed my plugs and the noise isn't completely gone but I don't hear it as often. I'm probably going to have to just take this one in to get worked on. Too scared of having to take off the turbos and stuff lol

This thread feels like Ford deja vu.....

Knowing the "feel" and "culture", you have parts crammed all over the place you have to remove to get to your goods, and a gazillon torx screws of every size just waiting for contact.

Fords are fleet cars for a reason...because if one drops dead, another can replace it, and there's a mechanic on board or trusted outside the company to fix them up.
