Replacing CPU in Laptop

I had to replace my motherboard in my laptop (don't ask why very annoying situation) and I've got round to putting everything back in. I havn't every had to install a laptop CPU and was wondering what to do with putting new thermal compound onto the die.

Is it ok just to spread some onto the die or is there something special that you should do with laptop CPUs?

Also can anyone recommend a compound for me?

Thanks any help is appreciated. Tom

Ok so squirt a bit on smooth it over the surface of the cpu and i should be away laughing. And AS5 is the way to go?

Ok i'll take your word for it. too bad i don't live in the states i'm sure i can find some here or on ebay.
