Replacing chipset fan

The fan on this board has recently gotten messed up and started producing a lot of grinding noises from time to time, and generally just being loud. So I bought a CoolerMaster PAC-P01 chipset cooler. It's just a passive heatsink, no fan. I'm not worried about the cooling ability, since I've unplugged the fan on my northbridge for now, and it's still not too hot.

I've never actually changed the chipset cooler before. It's the kind that is clipped onto the board. Is there any real trick to it? Or do I just get the clips out, pull the old HSF off, cover the bottom of the new one with silver, and stick it on with the clips? I just don't want to screw anything up.
