I have to replace a warped brake rotor on my 90 Mercury Topaz. Should I just replace both front rotors? Right now I'm just going to replace the warped rotor and the front brake pads. I just want to make sure I'm not going to have to do anything twice.
Neighbor ended up helping me out and we got it done. The silence is golden (the rotor was so warped it was hitting the pad and making an insanely annoying clicking sound). Total cost was $50 in parts plus a 12 pack for labor.
rotors are suppose to hit the pad... when the pedal is depressed and not while in motion =P. from what it sounds YOU really needed that brake job. $50 well spent VS 100-150$ at small shops.
