I've got a wrt54g v4 that I've been using for a few years, and I think I'm burned out on linksys. The reason I bought it in the first place was because it seemed to be the only brand that the b&m carry around here. But I've been losing about 1/2 my internet connection speed for the longest time now, and I've narrowed it down to the router. I've played with at least 4 different firmwares and I just want done with it.

Can anyone suggest a reliable wireless router that doesn't suck? I'd rather not pay over $100 dollars but if it would let me share my cable connection and not require constant rebooting to maintain speed, I think whatever cash I spend would be worth it.

I can't speak from experience but I read that Buffalo routers are pretty good. You can also flash them with 3rd party firmware like the Linksys WRT54G.

I've got Firmware: DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/15/06) on there right now. It helped for a bit but it seems to be slowing down again consistently.

I've been thru three WRT54G's. I bought a DGL 4300 and have found it to be the best I have ever used.....and that's a great price.
