Replacing a broken AM/FM antenna?

Found an old crappy Emerson boombox someone tossed out. It has a radio and a CD player which actually works!

Sadly, the antenna is broken off. I have absolutely ZERO experience replacing these, but assuming it cant be all that hard. Wondering is you guys know where I can get antennas for cheap. Amazon wants $8 for one which is ridiculous IMO. I am thinking $1-2 sounds much more reasonable.


Also, I figured if I cannot find a cheap antenna why not make this into a fun little project and get a "better" antenna, if there's something like that out there? Something that would improve reception/range beyond what a regular antenna can do?

Can someone give me a couple of links to such antennas?

Id just solder a piece of wire onto it but im cheap.
