Replacement Video Card Pre-Buy Question

I can't comment on the power draw because I have no idea what the cards are like. I can tell you that all PSUs are replaceable, even in a pre-built computer from HP or Gateway or w/e.

I haven't seen any that look like this one. It is one of the slimline pc's from hp. They want to charge me over $200 for the card yet I can find ones just like them on newegg for less then $100.

Any of those will work fine; they should draw about the same power as the 8500GT such that the difference would pretty much be negligible.

I believe the slimline uses a 1U PSU, but you won't need to replace your PSU with any of those cards.

Good call on buying your own new VGA. A lot of people would shy away from the backplate replacement.
