Hi,

I have a Asus p4pe motherboard (intel 845pe chipset, socket 478, DDR333) that has failed. I really don't want to replace all my parts right now.

Here the part list I have:

1 AGP - ATI Radeon 9700 128M
1 DIMM - Corsair XMS3200 512M @ 400Mhz
1 mP - Intel 2.8Ghz/512/533/1.525v
1 IDE - WD 80G (forget the speed)
1 Power supply - Antec 480W

Can anyone recommend a relatively new motherboard that could replace the failed asus board, but support the part list above? thx.

Regards,
Joe

I don't think they make socket 478 motherboards anymore. You could probably find a used one on EBay or craiglist. If you can spend $73 you can buy a new m/b and Conroe processor from NewEgg. With this board you can use your old ddr ram, agp video, case & ps. You could also save up and install some ddr2 ram for this board in the future. Here is some Crucial ram that can overclock to 1200Mhz for $10, after mir.

Computer geeks has your asus board for about $50 plus shipping. You might find more on pricewatch.
