Replacement LCD needed

I'm looking for a replacement LCD assembly for my 'recently aquired' Compaq Presario 18XL3 laptop. I've currently got an LCD for an 1800T, however it doesn't work quite right and am curious if it is compatible. I was told it was, now I'm not so sure.

I would appreciate offers, if you happen to have one, or better yet, I'm looking for any tidbits of advice or ideas.

What other displays is the 18XL3 compatible with?
Does Compaq sell display assemblies from the factory?
Were only two of these systems EVER built?
 


My wife loves this laptop so much (slopey front) I had to upgrade instead of replace.

I put in a 60gb samsung hard drive, and a new DVD/CDRW (gotta take the heat sink off the CPU to get to the DVD drive). Upgraded from ME to XP and she was pretty happy with her "new" computer.

At the time I was looking for a genuine DVD/CDRW. You can still buy them new ($300) but I found that ebay has a lot of compaq has a lot of 1800 series parts.
