Hey everyone, this is my first post over in this forum. I'm hoping all the video experts here can give me some advice. I'm helping a friend build her first computer. She is a graphic artest who currently uses a PC at her work. She and her husband are moving away, and she plans on doing some contract work for her current company. She needs a workstation at home for this, so she wants to meet and/or exceed her current workstation.
We've pretty much speced out a computer that I think will be up to the task of doing the graphics work she is interested in, but I need some help selecting a video card. Unfortunately, she doesn't know exactly what kind of card she is using, but her display properties indicate that it is an NVidia Quadro NVS with 64MB memory. I think it is the Quadro NVS 280, though I could be wrong.
Any recommendations on a comparable or even a better replacement card for professional graphics work would be appreciated. We would like to keep the price of this card below $200 if possible.
