Replacement fan for Tuniq Tower

Currently i'm using a Zalman ZM-F3 in it.
I've got several others I could use, but don't know which would be a good "fit" for this particular HSF.
Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks!

Uh...pretty much anything 120mm in diameter and 25 mm in thickness would work. I would say go for a Scythe Slipstream.

Well, when I said "fit", I didn't mean size. I've read where some fans perform better w/narrow fin heatsinks than others. Some are more suited towards basically intake & exhaust with nothing in-between.

Yes there are allot of fans with diffrent blade profiles resulting in the fin dirrecting the flow of air diffrently. Fans produce a cone shaped lume of air. Some fans keep it more focused while others grow into a large cone quickly. With all of them there is a vlume of dead space in the middle. The smaller the spindle in the middle the smaller the dead space will be. With as close as the fan sits to the cooler the air will be about the same shape no matter which 120mm fan you use. But in the end when it comes down to pushing air threw the fins its about how much CFM the fan can push. The more air it can push the better the cooler will perform.

Also note that most PC fans do better at pushing air threw a cooler rather then pulling it threw. On the back side of the fan the air will come threw the path of least resistance. So if it can avoid travling threw the fins it will. On the front side the air is being forced into the fins and has no choise but to pass threw the fins but if there is any area for it to get threw easier it will go that route. Ultimatly though it is forced threw the fins.

Your Zalman is good or the high speed yates from Petras. Check Vapor"s sticky on XS, the sliptreams get noisy when restricted. I have 3 in my new box on rads and they work well but not silent. At 5v they are dead silent but need more juice to move air. I can't tell you the exact voltage I get best air but I'll guess around 9-10V is where they work best but the noise begins. It isn't the motor but a resonance from the blades and the radiator, weird.

The Slipstreams actually make poor CPU coolers. They're good case fans, but they don't maintain their rated airflow very well while trying to move air through a heatsink.

If you want to put a Scythe in there, an S-Flex series is a better choice.

rally this is a very bad for static reason.

great fan to push air unblocked, but the moment something goes up front, it craps out.

the yate loon series fan is my first recomendation if your on budget.

then it would be the zalman F3 series fan. Those are uber great at static.

and then my ultimate 2 recomendation goes out to thicker fans like the scythe kaze ultra series, and sanace 1011 models.

I did not know this, aigo. Interesting...is it bad because of the fan blade design?

<- intends on getting 5 more Yate Loons because they're awesome

I think Ultra Kazes are too fat to be used in the fan slot in the Tuniq 😛.
