I am curious if it is time to upgrade to a 5700 U or maybe even a 5900? I play games such as RTCW, Red Faction, Indy Jones, and numerous Adventure type games. My puter is a Dell (stop laughing) Dim. 4600. 2.8 cpu 800fsb with 512 ram and Win XP Home. I turn 57 (stop laughing again) later this month and want to get myself something for my birthday. Wife syas NO more than $175, give or take a buck..... I say YES MAAM. Please hurry with suggestions before she changes her mind. LOL

You will experience a huge difference going from a Geforce 3 Ti200 to say a Radeon 9800pro or Geforce 5900. I only have a 1.8ghz P4 system and after I replaced my Geforce 3 Ti500 with a Radeon 9800 last fall it was like night and day. Being able to use FSAA and AF in most games makes a big difference and it should be even better in your case since you have a much faster processor than I do.

The 9800 pro would be great BUT I have a DELL and it only has a 250 watt power supply. :(.... I think I read that the 9800 pro, and other high quality cards, need a min of 300 watts.

You could pick up a 9800 Pro at one of your local bricks and mortar computer shops like Best Buy or Staples (I'm assuming you're American from the flag) and explain the power situation to a salesman. They'll probably tell you that if it doesn't work in your system you can get a refund if you return it in a week or something like that. I did that with a $1000 Can. Toshiba Pocket PC at Staples a couple of summers ago. I just told the salesman exactly what I wanted it to do and he said "no problem just return it if it doesn't work." It didn't work the way I wanted it to and there wasn't much they could say when I returned it as I had been very clear to the salesman and he had OK'd it.
