Replace fan in PSU?

Hi everyone!

I have a Sirtec 340W PSU and I would like to replace the fan with a quieter one, like the Papst 8412NGL. What I am a bit worried about however is: will it be able to suck enough air or will my PSU die a painful death?

You do understand the dangers involved in opening up a PSU, correct? The capacitance can kill you, so be careful.

That fan replacement should be fine, even if at the lower end of cfm. I've run a PSU with NO working fan for over a year with no problems.

Just unplug it and leave it sitting for 2+ hours. The charge in the capacitors should be gone by then.

Zim Hosein thanks for giving him the link, im glad people know about my site and can actually use the sutff I am doing, BTW I just posted a window kit review, I will have a ton more up this week I have about 20 products on the way
