Oh Ann, your snarky form of sarcasm appeals to me on so many levels.

Repeal the 26th Amendment!

I like it. But we really need to strengthen the laws concerning deployed military voting. Too many states took advantage of a loophole in the law.

Ah-hah! So there is actual science behind mandating that children be allowed to remain on their parents' health insurance. She's right, the voting age must be raised. We can't have individuals who statistically aren't capable of making rational, informed decisions voting. At least not along with illegals and convicted felons.

I'm willing to go with either-or but not all.

I guess trying to defranchise people who disagree with you is one way to govern.

It was closer to the Enclave Power Armor from the Fallout series of games than a Mech.

I'll only support this if it includes repealing the 19th amendment at the same time.

Ann Coulter is probably cranky that her shrill hysteria has been overshadowed by other gasbags like Glenn Beck.

Solution: allow 18-year olds to drink.
We need later term abortions, up to 20 years. If my kid is still doing stupid shit when he's 19 and out of high school then I should be allowed to abort him.

Also, who cares what Ann Coulter says? Isn't she that retard who thought Canada was involved in Vietnam?

Clearly, the ability to make rational decisions and resist impulses is an essential element to being an effective soldier. Someone deficient in these areas is a threat to both him/herself and others.

Since Ann Coulter is clearly correct that those younger than 26 are greatly lacking in rationality and impulse-control, they ought to be banned from military service. And I'm sure that Ann Coulter will agree that eliminating voting rights AND banning those under 26 from military service ought to be accomplished in one fell swoop. She just happened to overlook the military angle in her completely even-handed treatment of voting age.

Being a good soldier isn't about thinking. It's about listening and following directions. Young people are often quite good at this.

You can see this skill in action when you see a bunch of elementary students walking in a perfectly straight line, single file. They might even synchronize their steps if you asked them to.

I think that in the heat of battle, deciding whom to shoot at and whom to not shoot at requires judgment and impulse control.

When were you last in the Army? We're well past the unquestioning unthinking Joe. In the age of the strategic private, you need your soldiers to think, because every interaction they have with the indigenous population can have an impact on the global mission. IE: Private shooting a Koran, corporal throwing a puppy off a cliff, privates killing civilians because their SSG ordered them to do so.

If you don't want them shooting non-living objects or throwing puppies off cliffs, you should tell them that. It's also a bit sketchy when you're asking for soldiers who will refuse orders.

*flying over nazi germany*
commander: drop all your bombs!
private retard: I refuse to drop bombs on civilian areas!

If this is true then we shouldn't allow people to join the military until age 25. ;)

DING DING DING.

People who have undeveloped judgement can be barred from voting OR joining a military which can be used for oppressing other people.

The ability to understand "prove your manhood, see these pretty uniforms and waving flag that makes you cry? Sign right here" is manipulation is only fair.

We can repeal both things together. With drinking, cigarettes, etc.

How about babies and marriage while we're at it, until 25?

Do we really need our epidemic of 'I was young' fractured families?

Driving? Tradeoff there. Way, way more accidents, reason why car rentals require age 25.

I was a tutor for first and second year college students. I tutored math, chemistry, and physics. Most of them were pretty good at following specific instructions. They came to me for tutoring because they couldn't understand why things worked. A typical example would be trying to increase the solubility of something that isn't normally water soluble by changing the pH of the water. An organic acid like benzoic acid can be made more soluble by ripping off the acid and making a salt, so benzoic acid would be soluble in a strong basic solution. I could explain that to them, and they would remember it, but they couldn't apply the concept elsewhere. If I later asked them how to increase the solubility of something like toluic acid, they couldn't do it even though it's exactly the same process we just did with benzoic acid.
