With each repeal/replace attempt, voters will better understand what they stand to lose should the Republicans prevail.

We'll try and put out the burning Russia fire with piles and piles of paperwork and news cycle with a 2nd term abortion of Trumpcare.

How embarrassing is it when Conservatives hold a majority in every branch of government and still can't get anything done? They complain Dems won't work with them when Republicans can't work with other Republicans. When your party holds the majority in the house where there is no filibuster, you can't chalk up the failure to the minority party.

Haha, oh boy.

Is Trump really gonna risk another public rebuttal? I think this dude seriously has no idea what most of the details of the ACA replacement actually state. I don't think he knows what's in the EHBs, for example, or how successful, say, a federal social insurance program can work.

Sounds like they're going in full Leroy Jenkins style.

This is somewhat misleading. There are effectively 3 parties in the US Congress now. Although the Tea Party usually caucuses with the GOP, they can barely stand establishment GOP leadership. Although I agree with you it's embarrassing that they can't get legislation through the House, it's fairly easy to see why. The GOP can't/won't deal with the Dems, and they can't get the extreme right wingers to fall in line either.

I'm sure people are lining up to cry crocodile tears over that little cataclysm.

They are using the (R) to get votes but are not acting like a part of the party. The GOP needs to tell them to play ball or go home. The GOP needs to clean their house, the rest of us are getting tired of the stink.

I think the rest of us are much better off if the mainstream GOP and Tea Baggers cannot get along and pass legislation.

If my only options were to deal with the moderates across the aisle or deal with the bat shit crazy fanatics within my own party I know what choice I would make.

News reports are speculating this is DOA. No moderate R's will support this. They hate the idea of even bringing it up because of the rowdy town halls. One theory is team Trump wants something done by day 100 even if it's just a shit list of people who won't support it.

....and you'd be primaried.
If my only options were to do nothing but tow the party line at the expense of accomplishing anything for my constituents for the sake of keeping my job or leave the job in 2 years with full health coverage and pension for life with my soul intact I know what choice I would make.

To "claim" victory, all he has to do is get it passed in the house, then he can blame the dems for it not passing and he can save face and move on.

Watch as he fails to even get it out of the House and still blames the dems.

clearly you aren't fit to be a professional politician. :tearsofjoy:

He makes all kinds of outrageous claims, but "I passed the bill before I didn't" would be pretty low even for Trump.

He's already stated his Plan B anyway, he'll administratively kneecap the ACA and then blame the Dems when the ACA enters a "death spiral". I actually think that's plausible to blame Obamacare when it blows up, although a lot of media analysts say the party in power will be holding the smoking gun regardless of who passed the ACA originally.

They missed us on the first strafing run but they're coming around for another pass...

Billionaires need tax cuts more than people need healthcare. Everybody knows this. It's a Freedom! thing.

Nope. The record does not support your contention at all. Almost the entire Republican House and Senate voted to repeal ACA 60+ times when Obama was President. Only 3 House Republicans voted no and two are still in the House. If they all voted to repeal where is the argument? Just have the guts to repeal it first and kick everyone off their insurance. They just want the "savings" to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy. Now they just want the tax cuts without caring to pay for them. Borrow and spend Republicans whenever a Republican is President.

The only reason they voted for it then is because they knew with a certainty it would not get signed. They were literally trolling the President. Now that those bills would be signed (because we all know the President can't read well enough to understand the bill, and doesn't have the attention span to have it explained to him) no one is willing to vote for them.

There isn't much info posted about it but on the surface it sounds like a failure. I'll wait to judge it until more info is available. I'm predicting this will be better than the first attempt and how many lose coverage but the costs will line up pretty similar to ACA/Obamacare.

I'm not understanding the benefit(s) of the limited waiver option. Can someone help me out with what they are going for.

*I'm still waiting for what was promised:
Lower monthly costs
Lower deductibles
Lower prescription costs
Healthcare for everyone
Lower year over year cost increases
And a wonderful, great system

There's certainly no guarantee of renewability. Hell, my insurance co has left my market 3 yrs in a row. We're down to one now. I'm wondering what will happen if that one leaves next year
