repairing credit: making a dispute...

if there is something i want to dispute, should i make 3 disputes with the 3 major credit reporting companies? or is 1 dispute enough?

Dispute the item in writing with each company

Theoretically in some cases they will alert the other ones, but don't count on it. I'd dispute with each one, which unfortunately almost definitely means you need to get a report from each of them, because they DELIBERATELY make it VERY hard to impossible to get somebody on the phone without your having first purchased a report.

should i dispute with one company and when (if) it gets cleared, notify the other reporting agencies? (i.e. only 1 contacts the disputed claim)

or should i file disputes with each of the reporting agencies individually (i.e. they each contact the disputed claim)

iamme... there is a place called creditboards, I can't remember the exact URL but google it and you will find it... it is a huge forum that has helped me out immensely in the past. People there are almost as friendly as Ananders... but not quite 😉
