I've got a small tear in the netting of a PUGG goal. Is there anyway to 'repair' that net so further stress on it doesn't rip the hole wider?

piano wire.

pretend you're going for the ball and trip the striker into the net. hilarity ensues.

Yep, it will have some strechability and using 100-150lb test monofiliment you should have a few hundred pounds of stress without it snapping, plus that stuff lasts for years without deterioration, just ask PETA! I fish a lot and use fishing line for 100s of other uses. Including repairing my volleyball net which the kids love to hang off of like monkeys.

How thick is the stock webbing?

Weed whacker line may also work. Got a pic of the damage? I used to repair batting practice bands (they are big rubber bands like the ones holding the bags on shop vacs) with metal wire just double up about an inch and wind the wire tight over the junction and it works like new!
