Looking good properly supported the Molding holes. I can't even tell you how many times I've just seen masking tape and bondo. Nice to see someone spending the time on there care you should be super happy with the results. Get. Nice 2k Primer and after you Prime it let it sit for a week or 2 allows the Primer to shrink and show any scratches. This way when. You wetsand and block the primer it revoves all the scratches. I really look forward to seeing end result!

I keep seeing some that require some kind of drying catalyst mixed at a 4:1 ratio. If you have something that you use please let me know and maybe post a link of the stuff if you can.

The car is going to be sprayed with primer on Sunday morning. I have a friend in Hot Springs with a shop that has the equipment. So we are planning on getting the job done on Sunday. The front bumper was put back on because I didn't feel like driving the car without one on it.

I took Black2na's advice and picked up the primer he recommended.

The next 3 pictures are the mirror sail panels put back on, the internals for the mirrors are covered by the zip lock bags, I plan on getting the car sprayed like this, and reassembling the mirrors once everything is dry. I'm pretty sure this is the way to do it since they are folding mirrors and I don't want them to be gray and also silver when folded in.

The last 3 pictures are the type-r lip installed. I scuffed it up using some 400 grit sandpaper.

I finally got around to getting the primer sprayed on the car. After a few setbacks, here are the results. There are a few things I would do differently next time if I try something like this. Mostly hose managment and not overfilling the spray gun were my two biggest issues.

I'm just going to throw all the pictures in here. I had 1 paint drip on the rear bumper and 1 on the hatch due to overfilling the gun, I'll sand those out before taking it in to get sprayed.

I like how the color looks on the car, I'm tempted to paint it phoenix yellow, but will stay with the stock color so the door jams don't look out of place.

It's been a while since the last update, here is the progress I made before taking the car in for paint. I ended up sanding the primer down starting with 320 grit and going up to 800 grit paper to get rid of the orange peel look from probably incorrectly spraying the primer on the car.

There was one dent that I was never able to get it to look right, I'm going to have the place that will spray the car take care of this one.

Here is the bumper, this has probably been the most time consuming piece of the car to get ready for paint.

Here is the hood, there were some paint chips that I wasn't able to get filled in correctly with primer, I had to put glazing putty into one.

I was happy with how the rear hatch area came out.

I picked the car up this morning from the painter, I was pretty happy with the results. Below are the last pictures from this project, I still need to put the mud flaps on the car and also the emblems.

Car looks good!

I've always had a soft spot for those old Acuras. Great little cars and fun to drive too.

The spray and 1 clear coat. I took it to a local Econopaint place that has a painter who has been there painting cars for 29 years.
