Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) - sexual misconduct

I'm trying to find anyone, ANYONE who thinks Conyers should serve out the remainder of his term. Anybody? The idiot lied about the settlement when news first broke...and now claims not to know all the details? How stupid does he think we are? He should've followed Franken's example--come clean, say you're sorry, the end.

Franken is a dirtbag.

"...but drumpf" is not gonna' cut it, folks.
- Thats not for you to decide.
All these assholes needs to pay and the buck doesnt stop *right before* the president. Dems or repubs, doesnt matter, eventually this will catch up to Trump too, so please do continue.

When a Trump supporter tries to claim the moral high ground (on the topic of sexual misconduct, no less!):

Of course, if those people were Trump supporters, what the slope would be lubed with wouldn't really be sanitary.

That concept is difficult for the op or felixthepussy or tajbot to understand it’s all about party before anything.

Couldn't agree more. But nothing will happen right along with nothing will happen with ethics committee investigations. We cannot trust Congress to police themselves. These people make the rules and they have surrounded themselves with a nearly impenetrable wall of special circumstances, special rules, special perks, lots of special this and special that. Who is going to investigate this? They are. Only a fool would think this would result in a change in their behavior.

An Article V Convention is the only recourse towards truly draining the swamp.

Well, there is a tremendous amount of hypocrisy to cheerleading the downfall of one sexual harasser while relentlessly excusing the one who's currently President.

Besides, do you think we're stupid? Everyone here -- everyone -- knows that the only reason you're posting this is because there's a "D" in front of Conyers' name. He's scum, but don't act as if you're doing this out of some sincere concern about women or political ethics.

The artificiality and bad-faith of the faux-outrage from the right about this chap and about Franken (who don't appear to be equivalent offenders, mind) is really striking. Something about the language and wording they employ means you can almost _see_ their difficulty in keeping a straight face as they rush to adopt an unfamiliar posture. They aren't used to making an issue of sexual-harassment (having no history of ever having even recgonised its existence as a problem before), so you can tell they are still trying to get the posture and phrasing right.

Everything they post on the matter sounds so forced and artificial. It's as if they have one eye on the never-before-opened instruction manual ('The dummies guide to caring about anything other than your own self-interest', possibly?') while their mind is really on their unrelated political agenda.

Anyway, it does, at first take, sound like Conyers exemplifies the kind of attitudes and behaviour that means politics needs a thorough clean-out. Possibily a whole lot of them should go, across both parties. Fat chance of that in an era that's already profoundly divided over other issues though.

Just another abuse of power from an entitled pol. I eagerly await the list which will almost certainly be leaked.

i dont think you understand what misunderstand means.

fact is, you posted this cause its a Dem. while i dont care if some creep gets ousted, you seem willing to ignore a yuge creep who now represents our nation on a global scale.

prove me wrong by starting a thread about him in a derogatory way.

So, likewise, the other threads were posted because there's an R in front of their name. Right?

If thats the case then yes....duh. You think Dems are going to accept this behavior like Cons do? Heads up bro.

take a scroll thru the section, you will see Lefties starting threads about lefties do this shit.

To me this is another repeat of what happens when you've been in office way too long. Charlie Rangel comes to mind. Power corrupts, and you think you are untouchable. Congress needs to clean house.

Oh for fucks sake, it is now immoral/illegal to look at porn? That is 65% of all men and 30% of all women.

In a public place, it's pretty bloody tacky at the very least, no?

Some activities are best engaged in in private.

Funny though, reminds me of a letter to some advice column from someone who watched TV/movies on his tablet while working out at the gym, but found it got very embarrassing when the show in question was Game Of Thrones. Probably better to stick to The Walking Dead, I reckon.

I don't know that I've ever seen something that so succinctly described US politics. That video is perfect.
