Rep confused about Spoof of Planned Parenthood

This was a whole group of stupid. He didn't know, whoever brought it to his attention didn't know, any aides he discussed it with didn't know, the nerds doing his web site didn't know, etc.. It also goes to show that fact-checking for truth and accuracy is unimportant/unnecessary in his morality, making him at least a jackass as well as stupid.

I thought this part was more important:

Fleming's errant Facebook post came after a week of heated discussion over abortion, with the Susan G. Komen Foundation announcing it was ceasing all donations to Planned Parenthood because of the group's stance on abortion. Komen then reversed its decision, saying it would continue to send a portion of its private donations to Planned Parenthood.

On February 3rd, Fleming's congressional office released a statement slamming Planned Parenthood, writing in part, "The pro-abortion intolerance is at times breathtaking and disturbing. By threatening Komen, it became clear that pro-abortion supporters were more than willing to jettison women's health issues in favor of blind support for the nation's largest provider of abortions.

Interesting that they wrote this out as pro-abortion and not pro-choice. :hmm:

Good for a laugh, bad that knuckleheads like this are running the country. So certain in their moral superiority that facts no longer matter.

I do imagine that a $8 billion Abortion Clinic could only be described as a, "Megaplex". If someone was to ever conceive of building such a thing anyway.

The part I liked was the kernel of truth in the Onion article...
"Although we've traditionally dedicated 97 percent of our resources to other important services such as contraception distribution, cancer screening, and STD testing, this new complex allows us to devote our full attention to what has always been our true passion: abortion,"
The article this guy thought was real is also mocking the inability of people like him to focus on anything about Planned Parenthood besides abortion.

The right is so clouded with hate for PP they will use any lie/story fabrication encountered.

Makes them look even more stupid. I'll call this disease Jon Kyl syndrome

The Onion is pretty good at times. I miss the old articles such as Bill Gates buying all of the zeros and ones or the office Ninja killing his coworkers. This guy is an idiot for not fact checking and jumping to conclusions.

Because most pro-life people are pro death penalty. So anti-abortion is more accurate.

Yeah, the policies of many "pro-life" candidates aren't very life-affirming after birth. Anti-abortion is more accurate, but is in itself as loaded as "anti-choice" for that side of the debate.

Republican Congressman John Fleming has taken to Facebook to oppose this outrage!

From a news source as reputable and trustworthy as Fox News itself:
"Although we've traditionally dedicated 97 percent of our resources to other important services such as contraception distribution, cancer screening, and STD testing, this new complex allows us to devote our full attention to what has always been our true passion: abortion," said Richards, standing under a banner emblazoned with Planned Parenthood's new slogan, "No Life Is Sacred." "And since Congress voted to retain our federal funding, it's going to be that much easier for us to maximize the number of tiny, beating hearts we stop every day."
Stand with Congressman Fleming, (R) Louisiana! And while you're at it, send the poor guy some dough! He's bitterly complained that the mere $600,000 he says is all he has left over from the 6.3 million dollars he earned last year is just not enough.

He says it costs him $200,000 a year just to feed his family of four adult children and two grandchildren!

"By the time I feed my family I have maybe $400,000 left over..."

It may be a repost but this is the first I'm hearing that it takes $200k to feed his family. Where is the loltrollface when you need it?

EDIT: there it is:

so i have questions.

a)how big is his family?
b)WTF is he feeding them? lobster and cloned dinosaur steaks?
c) or more likely he does not have a fucking clue?

4 children and 2 grandchildren but I have no idea why he is feeding his grandchildren...apparently his children can't feed their own children.

Even his Adult Children can't feed themselves. Dude seems full of BS or Fail. Either way, not much to Vote for.

If I ever saw that, I'd think it would be even more interesting than pro-abortion. Just as interesting as saying anti-life.

Fair point. Obviously, it shows the political slant of the writer. I would think the norm is pro-choice or pro-life when discussing the two groups.

Aren't they the same thing? I always describe myself as pro-abortion. I even made a thread about it.

Maybe we should change it to anti-choice and pro-abortion. Harsh but accurate.

The Onion is good shit. It's close enough to reality that you might not know it's a joke unless you really pay attention. Example: this video about tests being biased against kids who hate school. That's not too far away from how people in this forum said that demanding photo ID to vote was biased against people who are too retarded to have ID.
