It was a 2006 Yamaha Waverunner, sucker would do 50mph and could ride 3 people. I went with my wife and son. We had a blast. They wanted us to stay under 45mph so the max I saw was 46. I did some sharp turns and gunned the throttle. Blasting over the wake of other boats was fun too. I took it easy with the family on there though. I only went crazy by myself.
Still, I don't see why people buy these things. They cost $7,500 plus fuel, maint., a trailer, vehicle registration, insurance, plus you need a vehicle to haul one around with. I can rent one for $125 for 2 hours which is way more time than I could probably spend on one anyway. You'd literally have to spend every weekend out on the water before buying one would be worthwhile.
I'd do it again though.
