Rental car insurance

I'm going to be renting a car in the Cayman Islands for a week in July. My car insurance doesn't cover me there and the insurance offered by the car rental place has a $1000 deductible. Anybody have any suggestions for insurance that won't cost me a ton if something happens?

If you can afford to spend a week in the Cayman Islands, you can afford $1000 if something happens. Enjoy your fucking vacation and quit worrying over the small shit.

Does your credit card give you insurance? My Amex blue does, IIRC.

From what I've read, credit cards only cover damage/theft of the rental car, not any damage/medical bills for anything you hit.

Your own insurance won't cover that?
