This deal is sounding more and more like who you get on the phone. Some people aren't able to get this deal and some are. Just call back. You will get it I am sure. :)

This sure is a hot deal. I have XM radio for over 2 years now, maybe now's the time to get some of my money back. Wish me luck.

Excellent score!!!

I called and told the CSR that "I heard ther was a $60 per year promo" and "I was thinking of reactivating my subscription." I just used my Barry voice.

My XM is back on line for less than the cost of a MP3 player.

I'll make all your lives a little easer. I called and got this (Kathy was the rep...very nice). She had to look it up because my wife threw the paperwork out with the trash (silly woman). Because I'm paranoid about bills I asked for it and here goes.

Promo Number: ZWINBACK MYP1

Called in with that code. It expired, but they gave me three months at 5.99. Those who are getting the $60 are really lucky.

MrPaul, you da man!!! just hang up the phone a minute ago and they accepted the code. Mine should take effect on my next billing cycle. Told the CSR i'm at the office and the code is at my house and its starts with ZWIN...., then he finished the code for me.

Thanks!

ichicolco, try it again.

Worked for me. Having the code is what did it, btw.

Thanks

I tried calling back at least 3 different times yesterday. Still didn't get a thing. They say the promo is ONLY for people who recently bought a Honda, Acura, or GM vehicle. Every CSR said the exact same thing to me. :-( Waaa. I even had one look up my radio ID, and she said, "oh, this isn't an OEM radio. It won't work."

Ugh. :-(

I did this last night (around 11pm central) with a NEW service... I had just bought my XM radio the day before.

I called and said, I would like the $60/yr plan, and he asked for my name/address/phone number/radio id and then said, sir it doesnt look like this radio has ever been activated. I said, I know, I just bought it. A friend of mine showed me a flyer for a $60/yr plan so I went out and bought this XM radio. He said, well it is for existing customers, but oh well.. I will give it too ya. :)

The code is all you need.. There is only one code for this specific promo so if they tell you it's expired they are LYING !!

I tried but was shot down. I was informed it was only for new vehicles. I'm pretty comfortable with that because I had already gotten in on a promotion when I signed up last year, and they had that noted on the account. I don't know what my odds will be to get this deal if the CSR already has this background.

This is definetly depending on when the CSR you get. It really isn't a YMMV because everyone I have given it to has gotten the deal. Only one of them had to call back a couple times. :)

I just activated my new SkyFi2 yesterday, replacing my old Sony PNP2 (which is now on sale in For Sale/Trade, hint hint :) ). While talking with the CSR, I asked him if I could switch to the $60/year plan and he said "Sure!" I asked him if this applies also to my wife's account, and he said that you have to pay $60 per receiver. Since I was paying $51 every three months for the both of us, $120 for the year was a no brainer. I also added Opie and Anthony to try them out for a week, but that was still $1.99 extra per month per receiver, so I just added it on mine for now.

Thanks OP!

I tried for this once on Saturday but they wouldn't give it to me. Called just now and the CSR was extremely friendly and gave it to me - no problem. So it definitely depends on the CSR, but keep trying!

I was shot down totally. Was told it was for OEM installed in-dash receivers. She said if she even tried to put in my Delphi units that they'd be kicked out at it is the car companies that are subsidizing it. She was very nice about it and didn't mind me trying but said that there was no way that she could put it in that the accounting staff wouldn't reject later.

how much is one year of service for XM? I know $9.99 a month but do they have a deal if you buy it for a year in advanced, all I see on their website is 2 years for $214.99.

Who are you guys calling? I'm getting shot down each time. I tried the number in this thread, 1-800-845-3072, and the 1-800-XMRADIO number and got shot down 4 times. They said my Radio ID is ineligible for this and that this promotion is only for GM/Honda cars. No go here for an existing member.

OK, I read this forum and went to CircuitCity to buy the XM SkyFi 2, had it installed, and activated it on the web for a month.

15 minutes later, I call 1-800-XM-Radio and ask about "extending my current service" and that I have heard about the "$60 promo for one year of service". The lady transferred me to some guy who grilled me about what car I was driving after I gave him the ZWINBACK MYP1 promo code. I said "GM.....Pontiac". He asked what type. I said "Grand Prix". He asked what year. I said "2003". He got me. This is only for 2004 and 2005 cars. I had egg on my face.

Still, I regrouped and called a 2nd time. This time the lady I got didn't transfer me when I said $60 Promo, and after I gave her the code she simply applied the Promotion to my account. I got the $60 for 1 year deal!

Thanks everybody!!!

just got off the phone with Xm radio after tying this. I told the first customer service rep that i wanted to renew and i had the promo code listed above, after 5 mins or so on hold the 1st rep said she couldnt help me and she transferred me to another person. He explained that sice i had 2 radios on my account that i was not eligible for the promotion, then he offered me a free month of service, i countered with 2-3 months free of Opie and Anthony since i have never heard of them and was curious about the show. He gave me a few dollars credit towards my next bill. I thought that was cool.
